For entertainment and self-reflection only. Not a diagnosis, not medical or psychological advice, and not a substitute for a licensed professional.
What this is
The Half-Said is a self-reflection tool. It presents you with 50 statements about yourself and asks how much you agree with each one. It then reports how your answers compare with those of other people who have taken the same questions.
The questions come from the International Personality Item Pool, a public-domain collection of items used in academic personality research. Using research material does not make this a research instrument, and it does not make us researchers.
What this is not
- It is not a diagnosis of anything.
- It is not medical, psychological, psychiatric, or therapeutic advice.
- It is not a substitute for a consultation with a licensed professional.
- It is not a measure of intelligence, ability, cognitive health, or fitness for any role.
- It does not predict your future behaviour, your success, or your relationships.
We are not licensed clinicians, psychologists, or medical professionals, and nothing on this site should be read as if we were.
What your results actually describe
Your report describes how you answered the questions today. That is a real and useful thing — self-description is informative — but it is not the same as an objective measurement of who you are. People answer differently depending on mood, context, and how they want to be seen, including by themselves.
Percentiles compare you with other people who have taken this test, not with any clinical or diagnostic population. A high or low score is not a problem, a symptom, or a disorder. There is no good or bad result.
Do not use this to make decisions about other people
You may not use The Half-Said or its reports to screen, evaluate, or make decisions about anyone — including hiring, promotion, admissions, credit, insurance, housing, custody, or legal proceedings. It is not validated for any of those purposes and using it that way may be unlawful where you live.
If you are struggling
Some people find it useful to talk to someone. If you’re going through a hard time, findahelpline.com lists free, confidential support lines in over 130 countries. Please reach out to a professional or a support line rather than relying on anything you read here.
